Hilary L. Richardson (she/her) completed her undergraduate education at Oklahoma State University (2014), then obtained a Master’s degree (2017) and a PhD in Clinical Psychology (2020) from Western Michigan University. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Community Health of Central Washington (CHCW) in Yakima, Washington, where she now works as a Behavioral Health Consultant. In this role, Dr. Richardson provides coverage at five primary care clinics, delivering brief interventions that promote healthy living for patients across the lifespan. Dr. Richardson’s clinical care is guided by a functional contextual framework, emphasizing a transdiagnostic approach and utilizing focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (fACT) and other behavioral interventions. Dr. Richardson also shadows Family Medicine resident physicians and provides feedback to promote a deeper understanding of the contextual factors affecting patients’ health-related choices and improve patient-centered communication skills. Dr. Richardson is passionate about uplifting underserved populations, so she is on CHCW’s committee for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, as well as engaging with community organizations to this end. Most importantly, Hilary loves spending time with her very silly dog, doing karaoke with friends, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
