Dr. Martha Sparks is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Director of Psychology of Mount Sinai’s Institute for Advanced Medicine and the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery. A clinical psychologist by training, she provides direct clinical services and supervises a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners in a co-located primary care mental health service. Dr. Sparks specializes in the care of LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV. Her research and program development interests include population health and integrating substance use assessment and treatment into routine medical care. She graduated from Columbia University and received her doctorate from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Sparks lives in the New York City with her family.
