To lead change, charge nurses need to shift from fixed-mindset to growth-mindset to enhance resiliency, handle negativity, reduce burn-out and improve collaboration. When nurses lead with a fixed mindset, they are unconsciously stifling their teams into cultures of incivility, increased error and job dissatisfaction leading to higher turnover. When leaders have a growth mindset, they embrace challenge, learn from mistakes and are significantly more effective in inspiring collaboration, increasing morale and leading teams.
