Speaker Bio
Marianne is a Project Director and Coach, CTI at the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence where she has been employed since 2005. Her initial involvement was with the Faculty Development Initiative Project (Clinical Scholar, Preceptor and Powerful Presentations). Since that time she has been in a leadership role on numerous other grants and projects having to do with leadership, quality, clinical placement and education as well as interprofessional teams. Coaching is an integral part of a number of projects from The Center. Marianne functions as both an individual and a group coach for a number of separate programs. Healthcare education is a theme that has been woven throughout her career, having taught, mostly clinically, ADN, BSN, ND, NP and Nurse-Midwifery students as well as other health professionals. Facilitation and direct teaching in a virtual environment is a newer responsibility. Educational preparation includes an MS in Parent-Child Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. A decade later she completed a Post Master’s degree certification in Nurse-Midwifery and practiced full-scope nurse-midwifery and women’s health care for more than ten years as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Certified Nurse-Midwife. She has been intimately involved in all aspects of several grants at The Center, including curriculum development, writing, collaborative endeavors and actual teaching. Out of the first grant there were six published articles where she was an author that aided in the dissemination of this successful model.
