Dr. Deborah Center is the Chief Program Officer at the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence where she is responsible for oversight for curriculum and program development, delivery, and evaluation. She originally joined the Center as a member of the Advisory Council and within a year was hired in 2006 as a Project Director to lead a clinical placement program due to her rich nursing background from both clinical practice and education. She has led a variety of programs and currently leads the Primary Care Training Enhancement HRSA funded program focused on interprofessional team and leader development. She also supports the Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention Behavioral Health Integration HRSA funded program focused on integrating behavioral health into rural nurse-led primary care clinics and nursing education. Dr. Center received her bachelors in nursing from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and master’s in nursing science as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus in adult critical care from Wright State University. She completed her doctorate from the Forbes School of Business and Technology at Ashford University with a PhD in Organizational Development and Leadership Psychology focused on creating a healthy civil workforce/work environments and coaching leaders and organizations. She is an executive and leadership coach initially trained through Coaches Training Alliance and holds specialty certifications to administer and debrief the EQ-i 2.0, EQ-i 360, DiSC, Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, and the Leadership Practices Inventory. Dr. Center has the pleasure of being faculty and coach in many of the programs offered and is a national speaker, published author, and organizational consultant. For her self-care and resiliency, Deb prioritizes time for her family and friends, experimenting with new wines, spending time in nature, collecting unique and precious stones, and playing with her dog and new kitten.
