Nora Fitzgerald is a Nurse Educator and Training Instructor at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Kaskaskia College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kaplan University, and Master of Science in Nursing-Education from McKendree University.
Before moving to Colorado to work for the VA, Nora was a clinical nurse educator in a large health care system in the Midwest, specializing in Women’s Services. Prior to that, she spent 20 years caring for mothers and babies in Obstetrics, where she became a charge nurse, Shared Governance leader, and discovered that she loved teaching others, becoming a preceptor and mentor to many new nurses over the years
Nora has been married for 39 years and has two beautiful grown children and a wonderful son-in-law. Nora loves spending time with her family, and her grumpy old cat named Mocha, watching Cardinals baseball, and traveling as much as possible.
