Margaret Huffman is Director of the Community Health Services Division at Jefferson County Public Health. Dr Huffman received her Nursing Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado School of Nursing, and has been a public health nurse for her entire nursing career. She served as a public health nurse/school nurse consultant with Boulder County Public Health for ten years, followed by 7 years at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, where she was a public health nurse manager in the Immunization Section. Her work at CDPHE involved serving as a PHN consultant to the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response, specifically working on pandemic influenza planning. After returning to school health services coordination with Jefferson County Public Schools, she returned to her roots in local public health, as the manager of the maternal-child-health block grant at Jefferson County Public Health. She has been the Director of nursing services and population based nursing outreach services for 7 years. Dr Huffman has served on the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC) Board of Directors, and is currently on the Colorado Christian University Nursing Advisory Board. She is also a member of the executive board of the Colorado Association of Public Health Officials (CALPHO).
